In God We Trust’s legislative team met recently with Congressman Joe Heck, Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Military Personnel, to urge the Chairman to hold a hearing to advance Congressman Walter Jones’ Pray In Jesus’ Name Act out of committee and to the House floor for a formal vote.
“We have an incredible opportunity to make a major push against the atheist movement in America,” states Nedd. “Our legislative team tried in vain for the entirety of the 113th Congress to try and get the former Chairman of the Subcommittee on Military Personnel to hold a hearing on The Pray In Jesus’ Name Act so that the entire Congress could openly debate on an issue that will certainly gain national attention as the presidential debates continue. Chairman Heck’s staff was very generous with their time and have asked that I meet with the Chairman personally to discuss the issue further,” concludes Nedd.
“That’s where your participation can make all the difference in the world. When In God We Trust meets with influential members of Congress and we bring along stacks and stacks of your signed petitions, it’s like you’re standing right beside me. Thank you.”
